For this Big Pine Key FL home in the Florida Keys, we designed a collection of bathrooms with a breezy, oceanfront feel—complete with modern amenities and luxury materials. From thick stone countertops to woven light fixtures, each element reflects the client’s wish to have an elegant, coastal-inspired home that still feels casual and inviting.
We kept a consistent color palette throughout all of the bathrooms, ensuring each space felt cohesive with the home. Our bathroom designs reflect the oceanfront location, featuring unique details that differentiate each bath to meet the client’s needs for each space.
Big Pine Key FL Home – Bathroom Designs
In the master bathroom, the subtle blue color of the tiles evokes the feeling of a coastal breeze—which the client loves. While the hardware elements keep everything modern and crisp, like the large soaker tub and brass faucets, we made sure to add warmth throughout too. We accomplished this with the combination of a wood stool by the tub and a woven rattan light fixture.
The double vanity features an abundance of space. We decided to break up the long lines of the floating vanity with an arched mirror. It was a challenge to find a mirror this large without a seam in the middle!. Another unique design feature of the master bathroom is the toilet enclosure. Instead of drywall, we opted for frosted glass, which provides privacy and allows the natural light through.
For the powder room, our designers did a lot of coordination between the carpenter, mirror fabricator, and the tile installers to make a smooth transition between the materials and having them on the same plane. Vertical subway tile meets wallpaper halfway up the wall, where a border feature runs around the room and connects seamlessly to the vanity mirror for a custom look. We finished up the space with fluted panels on the back wall. These panels add interest and make the room feel rich.
We used similar materials for the guest bathroom to create a cohesive feel with the rest of the home. A rattan front on the floating vanity calls back to the rattan light fixtures in the primary bath. A picture light above the mirror adds a horizontal line to break up the patterned tile, which features a familiar seaglass blue hue found throughout the home.
For the bathroom next to the playroom, it made sense to go a bit more bold and fun with our tile selection. Keeping with the blue tones, we chose a saturated blue in a funky pattern to add personality to the space. Modern lines from the floating vanity and single pendant light tie back to the designs in the rest of the home.
Our designers set out to create an inviting, chic collection of bathrooms for this Big Pine Florida Keys home. In the end, the client loved the sea glass-inspired tile, modern lines, and natural woven and wood accents we infused into each bathroom space.
