Best of Euroluce 2019: Our Favorite Lighting Designs and Installations

As an interior designer and lover of the how decorative lighting can impact and change the design and mood of a space, I was so excited to attend Euroluce 2019, the leading international lighting exhibition, for the first time.

At the 30th edition of Euroluce in Milan, more than 420 brands showcased their new interior and exterior lighting collections in super creative installations. There were many amazing booths with the newest lighting designs to see and explore.

As our Miami design team went through the best lighting booths from Euroluce 2019, we spotted the trends we’ll be seeing in the coming year. 2019 lighting trends include: less usage of the traditional light bulb, and many brands exploring and investing in LED technology; rounded elements incorporated on designs; sculptural lamps, which are functional but act as a work of art at the same time; and texture to create a different experience with lighting.

We’ll share more details about these 2019 lighting trends on an upcoming blog post, but today, let’s talk about our favorite lighting designs and installations from Euroluce 2019.

AROMAS DEL CAMPO

Spanish brand Aromas Del Campo presented a collection of lighting that can be installed as an art piece. Their Wheel and Tan Tan fixtures here are a great example of how their designs can be used for warm, ambient light but can also cover a large area to create a cool shadow effect. Stunning!

FORESTIER

French lighting design house Forestier boasts an innovative catalog of decorative lighting and is well-known for its passion to create lighting designs that trigger new emotions. Their designers play with wire and transparency, with the idea of respecting nature in all of its forms while giving priority to craftsmanship. The brand’s collections include everything from interior fixtures to street lamps.

At Euroluce 2019, Forestier presented an array of product, and while we loved all of these designs (they were so beautiful!), my favorite was the suspension bamboo light. It played with natural materials and contrast, creating a stunning shadow effect.

BOCCI

Of course, Bocci made it to our favorites list — we love how they combine elegance with innovation. Bocci is based in both Vancouver and Berlin. Every design from this company is not only refined but feels organic at the same time. Bocci’s collection has great glass options with unique textures that are oh so very whimsical!

STUDIO ITALIA DESIGN

And last but not least, the lighting installation by Italian brand Studio Italia Design was so impactful, it stopped us in our tracks. They used (hundreds) of their Jefferson suspended light to create an amazing scene that was truly worthy of a stop at Euroluce 2019. See for yourself here.
